Das Album Thriller ist mit dem King of Pop Michael Jackson so verknüpft, wie die Schöpfungsgeschichte mit Adam und Eva. Sein großer Durchbruch mit und an dem er immer wieder gemessen wurde. Nicht zu unrecht gehört dieses Meisterwerk zu den meistverkauftesten Alben der Welt bei dem der Produzent Quincy Jones und zahlreiche bekannte Studiomusiker ihre Hände im Spiel hatten.
So viel Kult sollte sich dann ja wohl auch verkaufen können, gerade wo der King of Pop erst vor eine Jahr gestorben ist und so versucht nun jemand das Studio-Mischpult bei eBay zu verkaufen, über dem das Album Thriller aufgenommen und abgemischt worden ist.
Nun ist es halt schon ein etwas anderes Souvenir und ich weiß nicht so recht, ob der Verkäufer sich im Klaren ist, dass derlei Reliquien nicht gerade das sind, was Fans sich kaufen würden. Und wer hat schon die passende Vitrine dazu und dann der Transport?
Der Verkäufer scheint sich seiner Sache jedoch ganz sicher zu sein und geht da richtig in die Vollen und daher lautet das Startangebot 70.000 US-Dollar und wer gleich 80.000 US-Dollar bietet, der kann das Schätzchen auch gleich nach Hause nehmen.
Noch hat keiner bei der Auktion angebissen, aber es sind ja auch noch ein paar Tage bis dahin und evtl. ist dann auch jemand mit ein paar kräftigen Männern und LKW in der Nähe um es nach Hause mitnehmen zu können… :biggrin:
Klare Sache, für Musiker ist das Teil auf jeden Fall ein Schatz, aber halt doch ein globiger Schatz. Da macht sich ein Glitzerhandschuh im Glasrahmen an der Wand einfach viel besser. Als Mischpult selbst wird man es sicher nicht mehr verwenden wollen, da der Stand der Technik heute ein anderer ist und wer weiß schon, wieviel Macken das Teil mittlerweile hat. Und wer möchte schon an diesen Knöpfen und Reglern seine Finger betätigen, wo ein Quincy Jones das Thriller-Werk vollbracht hat?
Aber auch schon zu lesen ist der Verkaufstext bei eBay, denn dem zukünftigen Kunden wird da ordentlich was versprochen. Und ordentlich heißt hier auch gerne mal lang:

NOTE: The color of the nobs and over-all console pic’s seem different due to ‚black and white vs color‘ and the age of the photos e.g. #6 was taken 28 yrs ago. The Board is unchanged other than the BROWN arm rest , which is now black (the fabric on the pads where often replaced do to razor blades and rips etc)! It can easily be changed back to brown if you so desire. We also have the executive/Producers desk (not pictured). We have recently restored the walnut sides and top.
